Adrian is town with a population of about 1700, located 40 miles south of Kansas City, MO on the newly designated Interstate 49 (previously US Highway 71). Centrally located on the western edge of the state, Adrian enjoys the benefits of home town living with the convenience of the city within short driving distance. Even closer are the communities of Harrisonvile (22 miles) and Butler (the county seat - 12 miles).
Our community is rich in civil war history, being at the heart of the borderwars between Kansas and Missouri. We're also a great location for the hunting, fishing and boating enthusist. Several conservation areas and lakes are within a short driving distance, and the beautiful, Missouri Ozarks are just an hour southeast.
Adrian's Frontier Village is the site of the annual Western Missouri Antique Tractor and Machinery Association Gas and Steam Engine Show, now in its 32nd year.

Demographic Information: 2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,677 people, 685 households, and 430 families residing in the city. The population density was 802.4 inhabitants per square mile (309.8 /km2). There were 782 housing units at an average density of 374.2 per square mile (144.5 /km2).
There were 685 households out of which 33.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.9% were married couples living together, 10.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 37.2% were non-families. 32.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 19.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.99.
The median age in the city was 40.3 years. 25.6% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.7% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 22.9% were from 25 to 44; 25% were from 45 to 64; and 19.8% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 46.3% male and 53.7% female.
