The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met Thursday Oct. 2nd 2008 at 7:30 at the VFW Building.

Membership Dues: Dues are still $35.00 and may be paid at the Chamber Office or
mailed to the Chamber of Commerce @ PO Box 303. Dues paid in the last quarter of 2008 will apply to 2009 dues.

BAT: Our next BAT is Friday October 10th at noon at Wimfield’s on Main ( YES THIS FRIDAY ) Our program will be Harrisonville Mayor, Kevin Wood. He will be speaking about street banners. Our Chamber is considering participating in purchase of new banners.
Nov. BAT / Will be hosted by Randy & Patricia Pike at their newly remodeled office building at the corner of 18 & McCulloch St. If you would like to host a BAT please contact the Chamber Office. (There are still many who haven’t taken the opportunity to host a BAT.

Highlights: Our October Highlighted business will be Party Source Rentals. Let us know if you haven’t been highlighted or would like to be highlighted again.

Adrian City Maps: The Chamber has contracted Liberty Marketing to publish a current Adrian/ Bates County Map. They will be contacting current members for advertising purposes.

Chamber Cups: Our 2008 Collectible cups are still on sale. They may be purchased at several locations for $5.00 each. They make great affordable gifts, and look great with flowers in them. We still have a few cups left from past years, for those that are missing some. The board has decided to ask Adrian R-3 art students to help design a new cup imprint
for an ongoing non-dated cup. We may still create a 2009 cup in smaller supply.

Farmer’s Market: The Farmer’s Market is held each Saturday beginning at 7:00 am located north of Old 71 Café. The Farmer’s Market will continue through the end of November.

Sight and Safety: The Chamber will again help support the Lions Club Friday October 31st 5:00 - 7:00pm. We encourage all businesses to participate in this community wide event.

Chamber Sign: Please let us know if you want something placed on the sign. We will do our best to accommodate.

Turkey Drawing: The 10 turkey giveaway will be held on November 22nd . All businesses
who want to participate need to place their drawing box out by Monday Nov. 2nd they need to be brought to the Chamber Office by 5:00 on the 21st . If you need your box to be picked up, call us at the Chamber Office to make arrangements. The Adrian Journal can provide you with a box if you need one.

2009 Board Members: We need members to consider serving on the 2009 Chamber Board of Directors. Let any board member know of your interest. This can be a very rewarding experience .
