The Chamber board met May 3, 2007, at 7:30 A.M. at the VFW building.

WEB SITE: Membership is being updated. Those who did not get dues renewed will be dropped from the list. Remember you can have your website linked to the Chamber Website. Let us know if this needs to be done for your business. Danny Ferguson will be adding pictures of Adrian past and present. Also pictures of Vision 2007 process, the MO DOT renovation to Main Street beginning in July. If you have pictures of Adrian’s past businesses please get us a copy. They can be left at the Adrian Journal, the Chamber office or e-mailed to me.

MEMBERSHIP: We hope the implementation of Chamber Bucks, Welcome to Adrian Bags, New Teacher Bags, Highlights in the Adrian Journal and the Chamber Website will bring attention to the member businesses. We are also in the process of purchasing a large sign for members to use to advertise their special events and the Chamber to use to remind members of the BAT, Luncheons, and other events. The new membership list will be sent to the banks and to Yoss Thriftway to be given out with the purchase of Chamber Bucks. Chamber Bucks can only be redeemed at MEMBER businesses.

CITYWIDE GARAGE SALE: The Chamber has set it on Saturday, June 2nd. We would like to ask the businesses to stay open until 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. so visitors to our town can stop in and visit your business. Perhaps you could have a garage sale table on the sidewalk outside your business. There will be a cost of $5.00 this year for town resident participants. Sign up will be at the Chamber office. A list with addresses will be published in the paper. Maps and a list with addresses will be placed at various businesses for the public to pick up. We are also providing a space for rural residents to bring a table or trailer and participate. This will be at Ethan’s Auto Repair parking lot.

4th of JULY PARADE: WE NEED HELP!! We need ideas for the Chamber parade entry. Please call or e-mail me with your suggestion.

CUP SALES: We will have these available at the City Wide Garage Sale. The 2007 cup is in and makes a great gift. Fill it with candy, etc. and give it to a friend.

BAT: The BAT for April was held at Ethan’s Auto Repair. Thanks Ethan. It was a great success. May BAT will be held at Oates Heating and Cooling on May 18th. Philip will have a mobile unit there with displays for all to view. This BAT will be in conjunction with his One Year Anniversary. It will open at 7:30 A. M. and be open until 1:00 P.M. with the public invited. What a great way to use the BAT and celebrate a one year milestone. If you would like to host a BAT please let us know. The Chamber phone number is 297-0004. June will be the Quarterly Luncheon at Wimfields. We are hoping to have Shawn or Joe Hilty speak on the Main Street changes to begin July 9th.

HIGHLIGHTS: May Highlight will be Double D Design. This member business provides services many of you might use. Watch for the article in the Adrian Journal. We want to thank Kreisler Floral for donating the flower arrangements given to the highlighted businesses. We are trying to get every business highlighted but if we have missed you please let us know.

CHAMBER BUCKS: Remember to give Chamber Bucks as gifts to friends, employees and family. This must be spent at Chamber businesses. As of May 1st 2007 $9721.00 in Chamber Gift Certificates has been cashed.

VISION 2007: There will be a ground breaking ceremony July 9th. What an exciting time this will be. In 90 days from Ground Breaking, we will see the Main Street area transformed.
