May 2006

The Chamber board met May 2, 2006 at the VFW building.

WEB SITE: Danny Ferguson has the new web site online. It has been maintained by volunteer members since it was created. The board voted to employ Danny to take over the website, however all changes must go through the board. Patsy Lemon will be the contact if members want additions to events etc. We are very excited to have Danny updating our website.

LIBRARY: We are all excited to see the library open for business. The library board will be participating in the City Wide Garage Sale. They will take donations of any items except clothing. The Building across from JUMP Stop will be the location of the sale. Contact Ruth Ann Ferguson for a time to deliver your items as someone will have to be there to accept your donation.

CUP SALES: Remember every 2006 cup sale means a $2.00 donation to the Library. Be sure to get yours. Stop by the Journal or the Chamber office to pick up yours. Cost is $8.00 per cup. These have been fun to collect. Some years are gone. Don’t miss out.

CITY WIDE GARAGE SALE: The date has been set for June 3rd. Call the chamber office to get your location on the city wide map. This will also be placed in the Adrian Journal. If you have any questions call the chamber office at 297-0004.

BAT: May Business About Town will be held at Deer Creek Lake May 19th hosted by Morris and Patsy Lemon RE/MAX Consultants. It will be held in the first home on the right. Come and go at your leisure from 7:00 A.M to 9:00 A.M. We will have good food and a time to visit with other business owners. The June Business About Town will be held at the Library on Main Street on June 16th. Put this on your calendar. If you would like to host a BAT please let us know. The chamber phone number is 297-2004.

MAY HIGHLIGHT: Is Allen Chancellor Construction. Check the Adrian Journal.

4th OF JULY PARADE: A committee has been selected to plan an entry for the parade. We welcome member input and participation. Please contact Linda Oldfield or David Francis if you have an idea for the Chamber entry.

DOWNTOWN ADRIAN: We are excited to welcome Willow Creek Group Home offices to main Street. Three other buildings are undergoing renovation and we are anxious to see what new business will join the downtown area. We also want to welcome Del’s Adrian Appliance. Del and Lynn Behn are the new owners of Adrian Appliance. They have packed the store with appliances. Stop by and introduce yourself and welcome them to Adrian. If you have suggestions on how the Chamber can better support your business or the business community in general, please let a board member know.

CHAMBER BUCKS: The Chamber board voted to once again support Adrian Summer School by donating $100.00 in Chamber bucks for student incentives. Give them for gifts or prizes. Remember this money stays in Adrian.

NEW RESIDENT WELCOME BAGS: I have filled 14 more welcome bags but am in need of a new supply of items from your business to continue this project. Please drop items off at the Chamber office located on Main Street at the American National Insurance office.

SEE YOU AT THE BAT MAY 19TH.
