The Chamber board met June 7, 2007, at 7:30 A.M. at the VFW building.

WEB SITE: Remember you can have your website linked to the Chamber Website. Let us know if this needs to be done for your business. Danny Ferguson will be adding pictures of Adrian past and present. Also pictures of Vision 2007 process, the MO DOT renovation to Main Street beginning in July. If you have pictures of Adrian’s past businesses please get us a copy. They can be left at the Adrian Journal, the Chamber office or e-mailed to me.

MEMBERSHIP: We hope the implementation of Chamber Bucks, Welcome to Adrian Bags, New Teacher Bags, Highlights in the Adrian Journal and the Chamber Website will bring attention to the member businesses. The sign is in and will be placed at Pike’s building across from Jump Stop. It is to be used to advertise special events and for the Chamber to use to remind members of the BAT, Luncheons, and other Chamber related events. This sign is not to be available to the public! It is for Chamber Membership use and is not to compete with businesses who rent signs. The new membership list will be sent to the banks and to Yoss Thriftway to be given out with the purchase of Chamber Bucks. Chamber Bucks can only be redeemed at MEMBER businesses.

CITYWIDE GARAGE SALE: We had a good participation. The space for rural residents to bring a table or trailer and participate was well received and we want to thank Ethan’s Auto Repair for the use of their parking lot. If you have any suggestions as to improvements that could be made for next year, please e-mail it to me or tell a board member.

4th of JULY PARADE: We have not received any ideas from the membership for the Chamber parade entry. The board decided to simply have a vehicle with our signs on it in the parade.

CUP SALES: We have these available at the Adrian Bank, Harla’s Salon, Kreisler’s Floral, Head Over Heels Salon and the American National Insurance office (Chamber Office Location). The 2007 cup makes a great gift. Fill it with candy, etc. and give it to a friend.

BAT: The BAT for May was held at Oates Heating and Cooling. The crowd was great. What a good idea to combine Phil’s one year anniversary celebration with the BAT. Thanks Phil. It was a great success. If you would like to host a BAT please let us know. The Chamber phone number is 297-0004 June Quarterly Luncheon will be at Wimfields Friday June 15th from 12:00 to 1:00. We will have Mark Lovelace share last minute updates on the Main Street renovation project. The one trip salad bar and drink is available for $6.00 tax and tip included or you are free to order from the menu. Please plan to attend. It is a chance to share your ideas for the Chamber with the board members. We want your input!

HIGHLIGHTS: June Highlight will be Adrian Quarry. Watch for the article in the Adrian Journal. We want to thank Kreisler Floral for donating the flower arrangements given to the highlighted businesses. We are trying to get every business highlighted but if we have missed you please let us know.

CHAMBER BUCKS: Remember to give Chamber Bucks as gifts to friends, employees and family. This must be spent at Chamber businesses. As of June 1st 2007 $9876.00 in Chamber Gift Certificates has been cashed.

VISION 2007: There will be a ground breaking ceremony July 9th. What an exciting time this will be. In 90 days from Ground Breaking, we will see the Main Street area transformed.
