The Chamber board met April 6, 2007, at 7:30 A.M. at the VFW building.

WEB SITE: Membership will be updated soon upon receipt of 2007 membership list. Please get your dues renewed. Remember you can have your website linked to the Chamber Website. Let us know if this needs to be done for your business. We have asked Danny to add pictures of Adrian past and present. Also pictures of Vision 2007 process, the MO DOT renovation to Main Street beginning in July. If you have pictures of Adrian’s past businesses please get us a copy. They can be left at the Adrian Journal, the Chamber office or e-mailed to me.

MEMBERSHIP: We want to welcome a new business to the Main Street area. Computers for You, is open for business and our newest member. Please stop by and welcome to the Adrian community. We are very fortunate to have such a business locate in Adrian. Dues have been increased to $35.00 and due as of January 1st. This is the first increase since the Chamber began. Please check and see if you need to renew yours. They can be mailed to Adrian Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 303, Adrian, MO 64720.

CITYWIDE GARAGE SALE: The Chamber has set it on Saturday, June 2nd. We would like to ask the business to stay open until 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. so visitors to our town can stop in and visit your business. Perhaps you could have a garage sale table on the sidewalk outside your business. There will be a cost of $5.00 this year for town resident participants. Sign up will be at the Chamber office. A list with addresses will be published in the paper. Maps and a list with addresses will be placed at various businesses for the public to pick up. We are also providing a space for rural participants to bring a table or trailer and participate. This will be at Ethan’s Auto Repair parking lot.

4th of JULY PARADE: We need ideas for the Chamber parade entry. Please call or e-mail me with your suggestion.

CUP SALES: The 2007 cup is in and makes a great gift. Fill it with candy, etc. and give it to a friend.

BAT: March was our Annual Banquet. We had 75 in attendance and a great meal. If you were not able to attend, please mark your calendar for next March. Plan to send someone form your business to represent you if you can’t come. There were great door prizes and a lot of laughs. Kevin Woods, Mayor of Harrisonville spoke about commerce and city growth. If you gave us a yes on our count and then did not attend, please pay for your meal as we had to guarantee a number and paid for all those who said they could come. The meal was $12.50 a plate. This can be paid to Linda Oldfield, Curtis Reynolds or Elbert Scrogham. The BAT for April is to be held at Ethan’s Auto Repair. It will be April 20th from 7:00 to 8:00. May BAT will be held at Oates Heating and Cooling on May 18th. If you would like to host a BAT please let us know. The Chamber phone number is 297-0004.

June will be the Quarterly Luncheon at Wimfields. More details are to come next month.

HIGHLIGHTS: April Highlight will be MOJO Car wash. We also want to thank Kreisler Floral for donating the flower arrangements given to the highlighted business. We are trying to get every business highlighted but if we have missed you please let us know. My e-mail is patsylemon@sbcglobal.net

CHAMBER BUCKS: Remember to give chamber bucks as gifts to friends, employees and family. This must be spent in Adrian. As of April 1st 2007 $9696.00 in Chamber Gift Certificates has been cashed. This money stays at home.
